What is the Hottest Shaft on Tour? – New Aldila Rogue.

Posted on November 9, 2014

The most popular driver shaft on the PGA Tour is now available to consumers. After dominating on Tour in the latter half of 2014, Aldila is now shipping its highly-anticipated Rogue Silver and Rogue Black shafts through leading clubmakers, fitters and distributors worldwide. Aldila's Rogue has been the #1 driver shaft model on the PGA Tour at 34 consecutive events, dating back to the 2014 season, according to the Darrell Survey. It has already been used in the driver of the winners of 10 total tour events. The Rogue dominated the end of the 2014 PGA Tour season winning 6 of the last 12 events, including 3 out of 4 FedEx Cup playoff events. New Aldila Rogue: The Rogue's unique taper shaft profile provides exceptional feel and consistency. It uses the same tapered tooling and Nex Gen Micro-Laminate Technology that was utilized in Aldila’s Tour Green and Tour Blue. All of these models comprise of ultra-thin layers of premium, low resin aerospace grade materials. Advanced, extremely high modulus carbon fibers: The Tour proven Rogue models employ 'Graphitic Carbon' with a modulus ranging from 95 MSI (million pounds per square inch) in the Rogue Black, to 110 MSI in the Rogue Silver, and 125 MSI in the "Limited Edition - Made in U.S.A." Rogue. The modulus of the graphite material used in typical graphite shafts ranges from 33 MSI to 55 MSI. By incorporating this new material, Aldila is able to make the shaft stiffer and lower torque without adding weight. At the same time, the placement of the material in top third of the shaft (grip end) allows the shaft manufacturer to slightly counterbalance the shaft to work well with today's heavier driver heads and the longer length of modern drivers. Rogue Silver: Stiff tip section to provide a mid to low launch with low spin. Rogue Silver comes in 60 and 70 gram weight versions. Rogue Black: a softer tip section to provide a mid-high launch with moderate spin. Rogue Black is available in 60, 70 and 80 gram range for woods and 85 gram hybrid shafts. Tour Red: Aldila’s Tour Green (mid-low launch) and the Tour Blue (mid launch) where released earlier this year and have been well received on tour plus as options in some popular name brand driver on the market. Now available is the new Tour Red utilizing the same high-end materials and tapered profile. The dissimilarity is the Tour Red is offered with a softer tip section to launch the ball higher than the Tour Blue. It will be available in a lighter weight 55 gram version as well as 65 and 75. Coming soon there will be a 75 gram matching hybrid shaft.
